MicroDot technology is a very effective form of Vehicle Identification Marking.

It involves spraying thousands of the small dots laser etched with a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), throughout the vehicle.

Several vehicle manufacturers use microdots to enhance the security of their vehicles. In order to provide a unique identification. Each Microdot carries this unique identification which is registered to the owner, but is not visible to the naked eye.

The unique code on each MicroDot is then stored on a secure national database, which can be accessed by police if your car is stolen. Microdots are polymer particles 1mm or 0.5mm in diameter and are literally the size of a pin head. Using a special magnifier the unique information contained on each microdot can be viewed. The MicroDots are almost invisible to the naked eye, but can be detected by a UV light and magnifying device.
