How to Replace Your Car's Windscreen Wiper Blades

Wiper blades typically last for about 6 to 12 months, or less if you live in a dusty or sandy climate. Luckily it's fairly easy to replace it when needed.

Here's our step-by-step guide:

Tools needed:

  • Replacement wiper blades (make sure to get the correct size for your car)
  • Clean rag
  • Window cleaner

  1. Park your car on a level surface and turn off the engine.
  2. Lift the wiper arm so that the blade is perpendicular to the windshield.
  3. Locate the release tab on the wiper blade and press it to release the blade from the arm.
  4. Slide the new wiper blade onto the arm and make sure it is clicked into place.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the other wiper blade.
  6. Clean the windshield with a clean rag and window cleaner.

Additional tips:

If you are having trouble removing the old wiper blades, you may need to use a lubricant, such as WD-40. Be careful not to overtighten the new wiper blades, as this can damage the arm. Test the new wiper blades by spraying the windshield with water and turning on the wipers.
