How to Replace Your Car's Windscreen Wiper Blades
Wiper blades typically last for about 6 to 12 months, or less if you live in a dusty or sandy climate. Luckily it's fairly easy to replace it when needed.
Here's our step-by-step guide:
Tools needed:
- Replacement wiper blades (make sure to get the correct size for your car)
- Clean rag
- Window cleaner
Instructions:
- Park your car on a level surface and turn off the engine.
- Lift the wiper arm so that the blade is perpendicular to the windshield.
- Locate the release tab on the wiper blade and press it to release the blade from the arm.
- Slide the new wiper blade onto the arm and make sure it is clicked into place.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the other wiper blade.
- Clean the windshield with a clean rag and window cleaner.
Additional tips:
If you are having trouble removing the old wiper blades, you may need to use a lubricant, such as WD-40. Be careful not to overtighten the new wiper blades, as this can damage the arm. Test the new wiper blades by spraying the windshield with water and turning on the wipers.
