During his time at Chrysler SA, Arnie also established a training schedule for learners joining the assembly plant. Arnie's interests in training has never waivered and more recently he was involved in the Thatcham Training Programme with the RMI/SAMBRA, which has now become a standard for learning and skills in South Africa. When Auto Panel Repair Centre opened in Wynberg in 1973, Arnie was approached by the importers of Lamborghini and Lotus to assist with the production and assembly of their SA models. Initially the bodies were spraypainted at his business, but as the production grew, it became necessary to relocate, and eventually Arnie went back to running his business full-time.A second shop was opened in the Southern Suburbs, but when the business outgrew these facilities, Arnie once again relocated, this time to Ottery, from where Auto Panel Repair Centre still operates.
