Lord Dent Celebrates 30 Years In Business

From humble beginnings, Lord Dent has grown into a reputable, established and well known Panel Beating Shop.30-years

 

A qualified diesel mechanic, John Banfield worked in panel beating and mechanic shops for a number of years. He decided that it was time to channel his expertise and practical know how into a venture of his own, so in September 1983, John, together with his wife, Mary launched Lord Dent.

 

Lord Dent is a family owned and run business. John’s son, John terry joined him in the business in 1991. “Cars have been a part of our family for as long as I can remember, I was brought up with cars. My father and I both have the same enthusiasm for cars so it was only natural that I join the family business,” says John Terry who took over the reins of Lord Dent in 1997. John Terry continues, “my dad put me to work on the floor where I repaired cars and I then moved up the ranks.” Starting at root level and working his way up has given John an in depth understanding 

of all facets of the business.

 

The business was run from a small premises, in a shop next to the current location of Lord Dent. As Lord Dent grew more successful, more space was needed and the shop expanded and took over the building next door.
Initially Lord Dent repaired approximately five cars a week, and today repairs 25 cars a week.Lord Dent specialises in cars under warranty and cars that are insured. They are a major structure repairer and fix all sorts of damages; from cars with small dents to vehicles that have been totally smashed.
Lord Dent has factory approvals from many motor manufacturers including Ford, Mazda, Nissan, Fiat & Alfa, Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, KIA, GM brands and GWM.

 

Customer service and satisfaction is the focus of Lord Dent. “We strive to get vehicles right the first time and on time. We don’t confess to be perfect but we always try to solve problems efficiently and as quickly as possible,” says John terry.

 

John Terry is very grateful to his staff. “We have built our reputation on their strength and good work ethic. They have helped us through the good times and bad,” says John
terry. Joseph Mabela has been with Lord Dent since inception, having started out washing cars, he is now a quality controller.

 

John Terry would also like to thank his customers and suppliers for their support through the years. “Our suppliers have helped us through the many changes that have come through being in the motor industry for which we are most appreciative,” says John Terry.

 

John Terry together with his staff look forward to many more years ahead.
