Fantam Auto body is one of the highest quality producing smash repairers in Johannesburg. A family owned and operated business, Aadil and Nizaam Halim are committed to providing quality workmanship. Specialising in Prestige and European vehicle repairs though we complete repairs on all makes and models. We understand that a crash repair is often the result of an unfortunate accident, so we strive to make the process as easy as possible. We understand the need of having a vehicle repaired quickly without compromising on the quality and safety while retaining the value of the vehicle. Through our professional approach, friendly staff, assistance and expert advice with processing of insurance claims and comfortable waiting room for our customers, will make the experience an effortless one.


  • The area covering the workshop comprises of an area of about 5 000 m². This comprises of a panel beating section as well as the spray booth and spray painting section the assembling area.
  • 1 000m² for parking.
  • 980m² of towing area.

Assembling areas:
The assembling area has a work bench with mobile work tops and is fully equipped with a tool cupboard containing all necessary tools as well as trestles and trolley Jacks, headlight focusing machine and battery charges as well as 2 post lift, 4 assembly lifts and all other minor equipment.

Mechanical section:
The mechanical section is equipped with two post lift, as well as a strut coil spring remover, vice bench, tool cabinet and oil draining pans, etc.

Washing Bay:
There is a fully equipped washing bay complete with steam and vacuum cleaners.

Finishing Touch Area:
Here all vehicles are thoroughly checked on completion and inspection reports are submitted to the various departments.

Storage area:
The storage area for parts is totally secured and the storage is properly arranged by the Storeman which has been employed for the specific purpose of ensuring that the store remains in proper order.

All employees in the workshop are in possession of uniforms and the workshop is in a clean and tidy condition as are the various rest rooms. As indicated herein before the office is equipped with all modern office equipment as would be expected and there is also a rest room, reception/waiting area, refreshments for all customers as well as television for customer comfort.

Furthermore courtesy transport is available. The entire working floor area is painted with Epoxy Industrial Floor Paint and the parking bays are marked with Yellow Road marking paints and stickers where applicable.

The company also comprises of an in house break down vehicle section which comprises of 2 modern complete lift town trucks and 6 small tow trucks with all relevant facilities for storage.

Panel Beating

The equipment of the business comprises of the following:

  • 6 X Correc Chassis Machine Frames which are equipped with an anchoring package together with universal clamp plates and all other attachments necessary. The attachments which are of a movable nature are all housed and mounted in proper tool racks as well as cupboards.
  • The Workshop is also in possession of a CO2 Multi Spot Welder, Various Gas Welders and Pneumatic Tools as well as the necessary Electric Drill, Grinder, Jig-Saw’s, etc.
  • The Company has a Thermo Mechanical Sprint Power Jig with Pantograph bench. It consists of a bench on electro- hydraulic lift straightening unit with electro- hydraulic pumps and ram. The equipment will include a set of drive-on ramps as well as a set of Mercedes Anchoring Clamps together with the same clamps forBMW vehicles.

A McPhearson Strut Measuring System as well as a Dima Universal Jig System has been installed and will facilitate the use of the equipment on all vehicles and not exclusively for Mercedes and BMW for which the special equipment which is enumerated herein before is being used. The said equipment is complete with all brackets, adapted and tools and the equipment was imported by the company at a cost in the region of R260 000-00 and has made the company’s facilities and equipment for panel beating of the highest standard and order and in fact the company is one of few companies in possession of such equipment.
